IndianaStateArchivesBuilding
The Indiana State Archives Building is a landmark project located at 450 W Ohio St, Indianapolis, designed by Ratio. This new building will house invaluable historical documents and artifacts managed by the Indiana Archives and Records Administration. Its location along the Canal Walk in downtown Indianapolis, near the Indiana State Library, the Indiana State Museum, and the Indiana Historic Center, creates an ideal synergy for historical and cultural research.
For the ventilated façades, GammaStone Natural Air cladding in Indiana Limestone and Jura Gray Limestone was chosen, applied using the RainScreen system. This natural stone solution provides a refined aesthetic and integrates harmoniously with the surrounding architecture. The panels, with maximum dimensions of 3200 x 1500 mm and a total thickness of 17 mm, feature a 6 mm stone surface. The ventilated façade system ensures high thermal and acoustic performance, contributing to interior comfort.
The Indiana State Archives Building project exemplifies how technological innovation and sustainable design can converge to create functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces, seamlessly integrated into the urban and historical context of Indianapolis.
