Hudson Site represents the transformation of the historic J.L. Hudson department store into a new urban hub set to come alive in the heart of Detroit. The project features a tower over 200 meters high, housing offices, retail spaces, restaurants, a hotel, a rooftop lounge, event and meeting areas, a fitness center with spa, residences, and parking to serve the continuously regenerating district. The entire development aims to revitalize the city center, encouraging the return of residents, commercial and cultural activities, and restoring civic pride for the city and surrounding region.
For the interior spaces, the GammaStone Natural Air system was selected, combining Absolute Black granite with a “leather” finish and refined Roman travertine in a honed finish to create environments that blend material elegance with technical performance. The panels used measure up to 3200 × 1500 mm, with a total thickness of 23 mm and a stone thickness of 12 mm, supported by GammaStone Air technology, designed for dry interior wall cladding. This system ensures lightness, rapid installation, stability even in seismic areas, and an air gap for the passage of utilities without reducing usable space.
